2. Use a strong password, choose a username. Shy away from using a password that you use anywhere else and stop using dictionary words. Use 8 or more characters with your WordPress installation and always include symbols. Never use admin for your username.

3. Turn off comments if possible. When spammers come to your site and post comments you may see funny looking code in there as well. This code, whether it is running or not, is sitting in your website. Not good. If you want to have comments be sure to use a captcha of some sort.
